MOTUEKA MUSICAL COMPETITIONS

MEETING OF COMMITTEE | At a meeting of the Motueka Musical Competitions Committee, hell in the Division Hall yesterday afternoon. Mrs L. Inwood presided over a good ati tendance of members. The secretary (Mrs A. Wratt) reported to the meeting that she had received many enquiries regarding the festival to be held in August and also a number of entries for same. She expressed the hope that competitors would forward their entries as early as possible, the closing date being 31st July. After discussion it was decided that as an amplifier would be available at the Institute Hall during the competitions no official accompanist would be appointed for the dancing, competitors in this section to bring their own gramophone record or provide their own accompanist. Arrangements were finalised with respect to the obtaining of a number of cups for the various sections also the prizes to be awarded in addition to certificates. Several accounts were passed for payment.
