GUN-RUNNING SUSPECTED
UNDERGROUND RAILWAY DISCOVERED INMATES OF CHATEAU ARRESTED fU.P.A'.— By Electric Telegraph—Cop vrightl (Received 12th June, 10.20 a.m.) LONDON, 11th June. The Paris correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says that police and Customs officers discovered an electricallylit cemented tunnel with an underground railway leading from a chateau between Mons and Valenciennes into a house in Belgian territory. A quantity of tobacco and other contraband, besides secret defence documents, were found. Gun-running is suspected. The police arrested the inmates of the chateau, a Frenchman, Roger Mitaine, and two women, Carmencita Olivares and Violette Vanbieshbroeck.
