SUPPRESSION OF PROPAGANDA

REQUEST BY BRITAIN SHANGHAI, 10th June. Britain has protested to the Japanese Consul against the anti-British propaganda, and has requested that anti-Bri-tish movements be suppressed in areas under Japanese control, including agitation sponsored among the employees of British firms outside the international settlement. Britain has lodged a strong protest against Mr- R. M. Tinkler’s death complaining against the unjustifiable use of bayonets after Mr Tinkler had been overpowered, the failure of the Japanese to provide early medical attention, which might have saved his life, and the refusal of the Japanese to allow the British Consul to see Mr Tinkler.
