Blewman was elected mayor of Upper Hutt at tha election held on Saturday to fill tha vacancy created by the death of Mr P. Robertson. Further returns have yet to come in. but it was stated last night that they could not affect the result. The figures are as follows.—J. Blewman, 693; J. Purvis, 500; C. A. Rendle, 21ft; F. I*. Keys, 123; A. J. McCurdy, 114.
