CATHEDRAL MEN’S CLUB A very interesting evening was held recently by the Cathedral Men’s Debating Club when the subject ‘‘That the women of to-day are more progressive than the men” was debated by two tennis com. prising—affirmative,—Messrs Wood (leader), I’ownall. White and Deighton, and the negative,—Messrs I.adbrook, . (leader), Cloudier, Mason and Smith. At the conclusion of the debate, the judge, Mr D. Fowler, gave his decision in favour of the affirmative and then gave an individual criticism of each speaker which wa smuch appreciated. Next Thursday the club will be represented by Messrs Hay (lender) Pownnll, Hogg and I.adbrook at a debate with the Waiinea West Club at Wainiea West. Any member who is desirous of making the trip is requested to notify the secretary who will arrange the necessary transport.
