OBITUARY
MR CHARLES THOMAS Air Charles Thomas, whose death occured recently, was born on Denniston 1 Hill in 1894, 45 years ago. For a few | years he came to Nelson and then left i for Kaitangata where his father was a miner and he was educated at the i Kaitangata school. Leaving Kaitangata ho went to Invercargill where he enlisted for service for the Great War for a period of 3£ years. When lie returned he took up mining in Kaitangata Mine where he resided from 1919 to 1936, when through sickness and war disability, he came to live in Nelson and was much benefited in health since coming here and his death came as a very sudden shock to every one. He took a keen interest in all kinds of sport, especially Rugby football, having been a keen supporter of the Rival Football Club.
