Jh Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants discussed at yesterday'* session o*' its quarterly executive council meeting a number of resolutions of protest and request* for guidance in connection j with the refusal of the New Zealand branch of the British Medical Association to co-operate with the Government i i the administration of the Social Security Act. The council, which is the national administrate body of a section of the railway service representing 14,000 men, adopted unanimously the follow, ing resolution:— ’That the executive council of (he Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants protest against the attitude of the British Medical Association (N.Z.J in holding up the medical benefits of the Social Security Act and tliat the council recommends the membership to support those practitioners who are co-operating with the Government in the full administration of thi* humanitarian policy.”
