NEW ZEALAND SOCIETY OF ACCOUNTANTS
ANNUAL MEETING O! LOCAL BRANCH The annual meeting of (lie Marl-borough-Nelson-Westland branch of the New Zealand Society of Accountants was held at the Rilz when there was a good attendance of members representing both practising members and those in employment. The chair was taken by Mr W. B. Griffin, member of the Council for this district, and a number of apologies for unavoidable absence were received. The report and accounts fpr the year ended 30th November 1938 were dealt with and the report on the operations of the branch was favourably commented on. The following were elected to the committee for the ensuing year:— Messrs H. N. Pyne (representing Marlborough), W. H. Parr, W. R. P. Jacques, R. Trathen, J. R. Oliver, K. S. Farmer (representing West Coast). W. B. Griffin (ex officio, as councillor for the district).
Mr W. B. Griffin then addressed the meeting and gave a very interesting account of the proceedings at the recent meeting of the Council of the Society and of the annual general meeting of the society held in Palmerston North. Mr Griffin was thanked for his address.
