NELSON DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB B. I!. JONES WINS LEG-IN Last Saturday the Nelson Defence Rifle Club fired the eighth stage of the club championship. The attendance of members was very poor, but those present experienced an interesting shoot over 800 and 900 yard ranges. Notwithstanding the difficult sighting conditions, several splendid scores were registered. Rifleman B. B. Jones was outstanding with 96. He was unfortunate in missing the possible at 800 yards, his sixth shot being an inner. The weekly leg-in goes to Rifleman B B. Jones as well as the A feather. Rifleman P. Burns wins the B feathers. The following programme has been ararnged for the month: 22nd April, Championship and Wastney Cup, over 300 and 600 yards ranges; 29th April, service shoot for Shell Case over 200 and 300 yard ranges, conditions being! 5 shots application. 7 shots snap-shoot-ing, and seven shots rapid at 200 yards, and seven shots application at 300 yards.
