THE HON. W. W. SNODGRASS

EDUCATION BOARD’S SYMPATHY WITH RELATIVES A motion of sympathy with Mrs! Snodgrass and family in the death ofi the Hon. W. W. Snodgrass M.L.C., was! passed to-day by the Nelson Education j Board, members standing as a mark of respect.

The chairman, the Hon. W. H. McIntyre, said the late Mr Snodgrass had been a very prominent citizen of Nelson. While never a member of the hoard Mr Snodgrass had always taken a very keen interest in education and whenever he had been asked for cooperation he had readily given it. Mr Snodgrass had played a great part in the progress of Nelson while he was actively associated with municipal affairs as a City Councillor and Mayor. In seconding the motion Mr J. >l. Harkness said he remembered Mr Snodgrass's father. Mr Robert Snodgrass, coming to Nelson and commencing business in Caledonia House at the corner of Hardy and Collingwood streets.
