PROTEST BY OPPOSITION

PRO-GERMAN POLICY DENOUNCED

The Opposition walked out from the . Assembly as a protest against the ma- ’ jority decision to postpone the foreign affairs debate to-day. The Socialist loader, Dr. Zokharow, said that by means of the radio and the Press, the Government was creating a feeling that Bulgaria’s only hope was still Germany. “This policy,” he said, “involved us in war in 1915.” Officially-inspired newspapers, on the contrary, assert that Bulgaria will continue in her friendship with Yugoslavia and Turkey. The newspaper “Slovo” reports that the economic mission to be sent to Germany has been postponed because of misunderstandings. SUBSTANTIAL RISES United Press Association? WELLINGTON, 14th April. Cabled advice received in Wellington to-day by the council of Fire and Accidents Underwriters’ Associations reports substantial increases in war risk rates for Homewards and outwards cargo. The new rates for Homewardbound cargo via Panama and the Cape are 20s per cent., and via the Mediterranean 40s per cent.; for outward cargo via the Cape or Panama 15s per cent., and via the Mediterranean 35s per cent. The old rates from New Zealand to the United Kingdom via the Cape, Suez, or Panama were 10s per cent., and from the United Kingdom to New Zealand via the same routes 7s (Id per cent. PREMIUM REDUCTIONS ANNOUNCED (Received 15th April, 9 a.m.) LONDON, 14th April. Following Mr Stanley’s statement in the House of Commons, Lloyd’s announced substantial reductions in premiums on shipments Under war risks. A cargo pool is at present being formed. It will consist of underwriters and marine insurance companies and will reinsure war risk insurances on cargoes to and from the United Kingdom. It will become operative immediately. SHARP RISE IN RATES IN AUSTRALIA SYDNEY, 14th April. War risk insurance rates to and from Australia rose sharply this afternoon. According to local cable advices, rates on the Suez Canal route are up 406 per cent. For example, rates from the United Kingdom or the Continent to Australia via Suez rose from 7s Gd yesterday to 35s per cent, to-day. Rates from Australia to the United Kingdom or the Continent via Suez rose from 10s to 40s per cent.
