Another popular Boathouse Dance has been arranged by the Nelson Rowing club for to-night. The evening promises to be equally popular with balloon, streamer and Monte Carlo dances. Noel Day’s Swing Trio will again be in attendance with the latest dance hits. Attending motorists are requested to park cars on the waterfront side of street. A free bus will leave Hotel Nelson corner at 8.30 p.m.
The Social Committee of the Loyal Howard Lodge will hold its fortnightly dance in the Oddfellows’ Hall to-night. Good prizes are offered for the Early Bird and Monte Carlo competitions. Mr H. Williams’s Dance Band will supply the music and patrons are assured of an enjoyable evening. Bro C. Reynish will carry out the duties of M.C. The ladies will hand round a dainty supper at 10.15.
Dr. Vere Poliss. Ph D.. overseas lecturer and confidential consultant, will commence a series of free public lectures dealing with applied psychology through self-realisation methods in everyday life next Monday evening at 8 o’clock in the Marsden Library Hall. Nile street. Dr Poliss is a forceful speaker. Her lectures and class lessons have commanded attention in many parts of the world.
