NELSON CITY COUNCIL | REPORTS AND CORRESPONDENCE FORTNIGHTLY MEETING LAST EVENING The fortnightly meeting of the Nelson City Council held last evening was attended by the Mayor (Mr G. L Paget Councillors E. H. Neale. J. A. Harlcv' ! H. G. B. Hurst. L. C. Pettit. S. A Gibbs N. Rout. S. McArthur. S. W. Street and | F. H. Sharland PAYMENTS j Payments from the various accounts i were authorised as follows:
CORRESPONDENCE i The Nelson branch of Toe I-I applied | for a donation towards the work at the I Seamen s Institute. A grant of £2 2s j was made The Nelson Hockey Association was granted the use of the Botanical Reserve and Pioneer Park for the hockev season. The Nelson Rugby Union was granted the use of Trafalgar Park for the football season. The Nelson Fontball Association was given the use of Victory Square for the coming season The Nelson Boxing Association asked for permission to erect advertising hoardings on the Central Hotel corner. The application was granted. An application by Mr B. B. Jones for an extension of drainage, water and gns services in Stanley Crescent was referred to the Works Committee. The Principal. Nelson College (Mr H V. Searle) applied for permission to use Victory Square on Mondav. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons in the football season. Per mission was granted, subject to suitable arrangements with the Football Asso nation and subject to the approval of the Reserves Superintendent.
