DISTRICT EASTER CAMP The Easter Camp of the Nelson District Young Men's and Young Women’s Bible Classes was this year held at Mapua. The boys’ sleeping quarters were in the Mapua Church Hall, while the girls were accommodated in the Mapua Town Hall, jn which building also the combined meetings, concert, and services were held. The number in camp this year was 40, with a very large majority of juniors. Camp officially commenced at ’unch time on Good Friday and closed at 5 p.m. on Easter Monday. The Rev. A. M. Ferguson. M.A., of Tasman, was Camp Father, and was assisted by Mrs G. Blair, of Nelson, who was in charge of the girls. The study book was “Saviour and Lord,” prepared by the Rev. J. S Murray. M.A.. of Kelburn. and proved a most suitable basis for the study circles which were held every day. On Good Friday evening the whole camp listened to an appropriate address oy the Rev. N. White, of Dargaville. After dinner on Saturday all campers were free to enjoy themselves in any form of recreation. Some went swimming. many boating, and some to tennis. Tea over, all were in excellent spirit for what was voted the most interesting and varied camp concert. After the programme was ended games were enjoyed until supper .time, after which Camp Father closed the day with family vespers. Sunday commenced with Communion service at 7.30 a.m. in the Mapua Church. In the afternoon the camp joined with church members from throughout the Tasman parish and visitors from other places in a combined service in the Mapua Hall. A community sing of hynxns under the leadership of Mr J. Burrows, preceded the evening service, which was chaired by Mr Winter, other B.C. members taking part, and followed by an address by Mr Campbell from Nelson. Mondav brought the camp to the last of the studies, and at 3 p.m. to the final meeting, which was ably taken by Mr E. A. Winter, leader of Nelson Intermediate boys. Taking as the keynote of his talk the words of Pilate, "What then shall I do with Him that is called Jesus?” he gave an excellent summing up of the findings of the studies, as well as some intelligent, positive and practical thoughts. During the progress of the camp greetings were received from the Executive Council of the Union. Mrs H. Atmore. the President of District Committee. the Methodist Young Men's Camp at Moutere and the Church of Christ combined camp at Motueka, as well as from campers of other years. The thanks of the campers are due to those who so willingly gave donations of fruit, vegetables, cakes, etc., and also to Mr R. H. Argue, of Mahana, the registrar and secretary, who together with Camp Father, had the most of the spade work to d >.
