WANDERER FOOTBALL CLUB AN MW L MEET INC 1 1-rom Our Own Correspondent I At the annua! meeting of the Wanderet Football Club, held on Wednesday even mg. Mr K. .1. Itolyoake presided* over a large attendanee of members, who* dis played Aery keen interest in the welfare of the club. The large number of new members elected also bodes well for the coming football season. The new members are : Messrs J. Wallace, W. Wallace, M. Johnston, T. Martin, J. Collett, I*. Lucas, G. Duffy, K. Dourke, Winera, K. Bignall, A. Thomas, AL Coodall, J. Ryder, R. Goodver, 1. Williams, T. Smith, H. Jessop, I). MeNabb, and R. Girvin. The annual report and balance sheet, the latter showing a credit of £7 3s 9J, were read and adopted on the motion of Messrs K. J. Holyoake and R. Johnston. ELECTION OF OFFICERS Officers for the ensuing year were electel as follows:—Patron. Mr F. J. Bowers (re-elected j; president, Mr K. J. Holyoake (re-elected) • vice-presidents, * Messrs W. Evans, F. Wright, M. Hermanson, 11. Gray; secretary and treasurer. Mr J. Holyoake (reelected); auditor, Mr T. O. Chittenden (re-elected) ; management committee, Messrs P. Lucas, R. Cederman, B. Fry, N. Holyoake; delegates to sub-union, Messrs J. Holyoake, N. Holyoake and B. Fry; club captain, Mr N. Holyoake. It was decided to enter a senior and a junior team in the competitions. Mr N. Holyoake was appointed senior selector and Messrs R. Cederman, B. Johnston and the team captain were appointed to the junior selection committee. The subscription was fixed at 5s senior and 2s 6d junior. The delegates were instructed to vote against any proposal to combine with the Takaka and Collingwood districts for club competitions. It was stated that a proposal was afoot t<, eliminate the Motueka club competition with a view to Motueka combining with the Takaka and Collingwood districts for combined competitions. The meeting was of the opinion that the travelling expenses of players was unwarranted and delegates were instructed to vote against any such proposal. It was decided to ask Tikaokaos if Wanderers could join them in using the G»ok Recreation Ground for practice. The secretary, Mr N. Holyoake, in his report, stated that the ciub had had a very successful season, the senior team winning the seven-a-side competition and the junior team being well placed in its "The club- is in u _,ood position, financially, duo to the generosity of its officers and supporters. It is hoped that players will pay their subscriptions more promptly than in the past Prospects for this season look very promising with many applications for membership.*’
