Dr. Marsden, secretary of the Department of Scientific and Indus*rial Research left yesterday for England via Australia on business relating to the department’s activities and on special leave in connection with writing a biography of Lord Rutherford which will have special reference to New Zealand but regarding which he desires to collect material relating to the last ten years of Lord Rutherford’s life in England.
