MEETING AT PALMERSTON NORTH SEVERAL PAPERS READ I United Press A^acziatiool PALMERSTON N., 26th January. Chemists from many parts of the Dominion gathered in Palmerston . North to-day to attend the annual meetings of the New Zealand Institute of Chemistry and the New Zealand branch of the Institute of Chemistry of Great Britain and Ireland. Mr G. A. Law- * rence. Johnsonville, presided over an attendance of 40 at the former meeting. and Mr h. L. Andrew, Welling- 1 ton. over the latter meeting, which ; was also well attended. OFFICERS ELECTED The following officers were elected , at the annual meeting of the New Zealand section of the Institute of Chemistry of Great Britain and Ireland:—Chairman. Mr R. L. Andrew (Wellington); secretary and treasurer, Mr P. White (Wellington); auditor, Mr T. A. Glendinning; committee. Dr. Gardner (Dunedin), Messrs T. H. McCombs. M.P. (Christchurch', F H. V. Fielder (Auckland), H. O. Askew (Nelson) , McDowall (Palmerston North), Moil* (Wellington). M. L. H. Stewart (Wellington), and Miss Lorimer (Wellington).
Several papers were read at the continuation of the meeting to-night.
