North to-day to attend the annual meetings of the New Zealand Institute of Chemistry and the New Zealand branch of the Institute of Chemistry of Great Britain and Ireland. Mr G. A. Law- * rence. Fielder (Auckland), H. O. Askew (Nelson) , McDowall (Palmerston North), Moil* (Wellington). M. L. H. Stewart (Wellington), and Miss Lorimer (Wellington).

Several papers were read at the continuation of the meeting to-night.
