William Wood was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment for attempted manslaughter; J. Mansell, f/r an attempt to do bodily harm, was sentenced to imprisonment for one year: P. Crossley and J. Crossley (who are not related) were bound over for a year at Jaffa. The defence pleaded that all the police regulations regarding escapees were observed. Wood and Mansell appealed against their conviction.
