OBITUARY

MRS HELEN MARY GRENSILL The death has occurred of Mrs Helen Mary Grensill, widow of the late Mr Stewart Bernard Grensill. formerly of Malay States and Richmond. Mrs Grensill was the fifth daughter of Mr and Mrs Cradock Beauchamp, who were among the first pioneers in Queen Charlotte Sound. She was born 68 years ago at Anakiwa, where she lived with her parents and assisted in making *a farm and a home on a bush holding. After her marriage. Mr Grenrfill was engaged in tin mining in the Malay States, where they lived in a settlemen far removed from civilisation and some of their experiences and adventures with armed natives prone to robbery made many interesting stories. Mr and Mrs Grensill returned to Richmond about 16 years ago. After her husband’s death about seven years ago she removed to Nelson, where sne resided until her death. Having a simple faith in God which gave her a great sense of self-reliance and duty, Mrs Grensill was a woman of noble ideals and made many personal sacrifices in living up to her ideals She will be remembered by her many friends for her cheerful disposition and kindly and sympathetic nature. Mrs Grensill leaves one son and one daughter—Mr R. Grensill 'Wellington) and Mrs Arthur Fell (Nikau Bay, Pelorus Sound). She is survived by three sisters and four brothers—Mrs G. J. Anderson and Mrs J. Duncan (Sounds), Mrs F. Barclay (Wanganui), and Messrs R. (Waikato). G. (Canterbury). C. D. (Hawkes Bay) and C. Beauchamp (Hawkes Bay).
