The British Admiralty announces that Admiral Sir Matthew Best has been placed on the retired list at his own request to facilitate the promotion of younger officers. Vice-Admiral Sir Reginald Henderson has been promoted admiral and Rear-Admiral Rakies has been promoted vice-admrial.
