Neither opponent looked • like winning at any time. ; 'The Ferkins brothers were in excellent form in the men’s doubles, scoring a good , win over K. W. Dyer and S. Painter, 6-3, . 6-2 As a spectacle, however, the semifinal was better than the final, and the gallery was kept in tense excitement. A great duel was fought between Miss . M Glenny and Mrs G. Cotterill, the form, e* winning the women's singles championship, 8-6, 7-5. F. VV. Morrell was another who played splendidly throughout the tournament, and he won the men’s handicap singles \ against C. K. Long, 9-2. Partnered by ' C. Carle, lie also won the handicap dou blcs, in which the pair beat Barton and I Smith, 9-6. Hie final of the women’s handicap singles was won by Miss J. Forrester, who 5 beat Mrs P. Hawksworth 7-1.
