The engine and two coaches of the Perth-bound Albany epress were derailed in the floods near Narrogin. about 120 miles south-east of Perth. Seventy passengers were aboard, but wo one was injured. The engine turned over on its side, but the firemen and driver jumped clear. The derailment occurred when the express was proceeding cautiously through the flooded area, and fouled rails that had been diverted by the heavy body of water.
