JUNIOR CRICKET
TAHUNA DEFEAT WAKATU The Tahuna cricket team defeated Wakatu on Saturday by 24 runs on the first innings, on the winning team’* home ground. Wakatu won the toss and elected to bat, the innings closing at 130 runs. The batsmen to reach double figures were Karsten 17, Lewis 28. Tarrant 20. Mayes 19 Bowling for Tahuna: Hobern took four for 26, MacDonald five for 13, Coombs one for 37. Tahuna’s first innings totalled 154. The first wicket fell at one run, but F. Hobern and W, Veysey 20 took the score to 48 before both were dismissed in qftick succession. Tahuna owed its success to Chamberlain who made 67. and also H. Grant 14 not out, who was the only player who could keep his end up while Chamberlain collected the Bowling for Wakatu Nordberg took three for 60, Wilcox one for 35, Fielding two for 21, Tarrant three for 16.
