W.D. GARDENING CIRCLE GLADIOLI SHOW fFrom Our Own Correspondent? The W.D. Gardening Circle met yesterday afternoon at the residence of Mrs H. Stringer, to finalise arrangements in connection with the gladioli show, to be held on Friday next. A schedule of four sections —gladioli, dahlia, miscellaneous and decorative, was drawn up by the sub-committee, with the assistance of Mr S. B. Canavan. As this 0 the first flower show to be staged by the W.D. Gardening Circle and members are desirous of making it veil worth a visit by all flower lovers in the district, it was decided that no charge be made for entries, also that trophies be awarded for most points in each section. The hope was expressed that there would be a good response from growers of gladioli and dahlias and other summer flowers, so that the display in the W.D. Hall would be an attractive one. Mrs D. W. Talbot (leader of the circle), who presided, explained that a beautifying scheme was being undertaken by members and improvements would be effected to the grounds in front of the Hall, when sufficient funds were available. Proceeds from the gladioli show would be set aside for this purpose. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to Mrs Stringer for the use of her room.
