CHARGE OF FALSE PRETENCES
ACCUSED REMANDED A charge of false pretences was brought against Michael John O’Neill, aged 31, in the Magistrate’s Court this morning before Mr T. E. Maunsell, S.M. He was charged that on 12th January at Blenheim with intent to defraud he did obtain from one Victor Camden Constant the sum of £3 by falsely representing that he had obtained a position as a pilot with Union Airways, Ltd. Detective-Sergeant F. Hayhurst said that the accused was arrested yesterday on his arrival from Blenheim. There were other charges pending. The accused was known to the police. At the request of the detectivesergeant a remand till 27th January was granted.
