You will see from this picture that Gwen very gallantly agreed to impersonate the Witch’s cat. and venture into the Witch’s den. Now that she is altered she does not look very much like the happy little cat we know, but then, of course, that is just as well if the Witch is to mistake her for her own evil companion. “Grow,” said the King. “GR-r-r-rssssss,” cried Gwen. "Good,” said the King. "You ought to pass. But be cautious. Now, off you go.”
