POSSIBLE DEVELOPMENT
WAY NOT CLOSED FOR FRIENDLY DISCUSSIONS (Received 17th January. 11.55 a.m.) LONDON, 16th January. Consideration is being given all possible steps for the protection of British interests in the Far East, stated a Government spokesman at a press conference. The spokesman questioned about the possible development of the British Note to Tokio, stressed that the note neither closed the way for friendly discussions nor excluded the possibility of other action. The Australian Associated Press savs that negotiations are continuing for the extension of credits to China, which was given to understand that she would receive at least a quarter of the £10,000.000 provided in the Exports Credit Bill.
