TO BEAUTIFY THE CITY
MASSED PLANTINGS OF SPRING BULBS 40,000 NARCISSI AND 50.000 FREEZIAS WANTED Residents of Nelson willing to assist the Superintendent of Reserves (Mr A. White) in establishing massed displays of daffodils and freezias in various parts of the city, are invited by the Mayor of Nelson (Mr G L. Page) to make donations of bulbs to the City Council. To carry out a proposed scheme of planting the Superintendent estimates that 40 000 narcissi and 50.000 freezias are necessary, in addition to other bulbs. It is expected that there will be a ready response to the appeal now being made so that the planting can proceed ready for displays of flowers in the spring
