PRICES AT ADDINGTON • United Fret's AatJocidi ion l CHRISTCHURCH, 21st December. To-day’s market at Addington was a double one in view of the holiday, and the next market will be held on 4lh January. There was a good sale for all classes of fat stock. Store Sheep. -A small entry, mostly wethers, and of better class, sold at full late rates. Fat Lambs.—About 3000 were penned, and it was the best showing of quality this year. There was a keen sale from the outset, butchers paying a good BJd for best lambs, and exporters exceeding the schedule price on occasions. The top price was 31 s lOd. but a big proportion of the lambs sold at from 23s to 255.

Fat Sheep.—A heavy entry of 0500 head, and the sale over the earlier part was Is (Id a head better than a week ago. In the later stages values cased to last week’s level, but the big penning was well competed for throughout. Exporters competed up to 19s for wethers. The best of the wethers made from 22s to 245, tops to 2Gs lOd. medium 18s to 21s, ewes 18s to 21s, tops to 225, medium 15s 6d to 17s 6d, light down to 9s. Fat Cattle.—47o were penned, and they were of excellent quality for the greater part. Prime medium weight beef improved by 10s to 15s a head, other sorts being unaltered. Best beef made from £1 16s to £1 18s, tops a | shade higher. The top price was Cl 7 7s 6d. Good steers brought £l4 10s to £l6 10s. light down to £lO 10s; best j heifers £l3 12s 6d, good £lO to £11; | best cows, to £l2 2s 6d, good £9 to £lO j Only porkers were offered in the fat; pig section, and the sale showed an j average improvement of 3s a head, i Prices a pound were from 62d to 7Jd.
