VISIT BY FOREST ENTOMOLOGIST
TO STUDY NEW ZEALAND TREES WELLINGTON, This Day An arrival by the Awatea was Dr. R. N Uhrystal, forest entomologist and lectuier in forest zoology at the Imperial Forestry Institute, Oxford, which lias been in existence since 1925. His mam object is to see something of New Zealand forests and particularly to look into the insect side of them. Some yea is ago he was responsible for scientific work in connection with the parasite sent out t) deal with the wood wasp which was attacking pinus insignis, and in tlie course of his investigation he made a special film of the parasite and this should be m Wellington. A number of fishing rods is evident in his gear. He explained that this would be only incidental. “But when one comes to New Zealand and is a keen fisherman it is rather a pity not to try tc get some fishing in.” Dr. Chrystal was met by Mr T. I C. Burch of the State Forest Service who studied under him in 1926.
