NEW RECORD FOR NELSON
NOVEMBER CUSTOMS COLLECTIONS HIGHEST MONTHLY FIGURE FOR PORT INCREASE IN SALES TAX In collecting a total of £14,085 15s Id in Customs and other taxes in the month of November, the Nelson Customs Office created a new monthly record. The former record figure was established in the previous month, October, when the revenue for Port Nelson was £11,900 19s lOd. The total for November was nearly double the figure for November, 1937. Compared with November last year Customs increased £3713, while Sales Tax reached £2102, compared with £1799 in November. 1937.
