COMMON GAMING HOUSE CHARGE
FINE OF £75 IMPOSED FURTHER INFORMATION DISMISSED l United Press Association! . PALMERSTON N., This Day. Hughie James Trask (34) was fined £75 by Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., for keeping a common gaming house. Defendant was fined £IOO for a similar offence last February. The Magistrate stated that had the circumstances in that case, when defendant was only acting as an agent, been the same as the present one he would have imposed the maximum penalty on this occasion. The Magistrate, in a reserved decision, dismissed a charge of publishing a double chart, saying the evidence was insufficient to connect defendant with it
