CRICKET UMPIRES
FIRST ANNUAL MEETING At the first annual meeting of the Nelson Cricket Umpires’ Association there were present: Messrs E. M. Jackson (in the chair), A. J. Gray, C. Exton, J Satherly, H. McDonald, M. Holmes, and L. M. Gray. Mr R. H. Methven was excused on account of a previous engagement.
Mr E. M. Jackson was unanimously re-elected president of the Association. Mr M. Holmes tendered his resignation, ss secretary, on account of stress of business, and Mr L. M. Gray was elected hon. secretary. The appointment committee is to consist of Messrs A. J. Gray. E. M. Jackson, ana the hon. secretary. The delegate to the N.C.C.A. is Mr C. Exton. It was decided to refer the question regarding boundaries (south end of senior wicket No. 1) at the Park, to the N.C.C.A., per medium of delegate, for final decision. It was moved by C. Exton and seconded by Mr A. J. Gray and carried, that a nominal sum of 2s 6d per member be levied on members of the N.C.U.A. The next meeting is called for 15th December.
