A tennis match w’as played on the Hiawatha Courts on Saturday, between the Puramahoi and Hiawatha clpbs, for the Anderson Cup. Hiawatha w'ere the victors by 11 sets to 5. The following were the scores (Hiawatha names being mentioned first): — LADIES’ DOUBLES Miss Hore and Miss Hume beat Mrs Sara and Mrs Soper, 6-4; beat Misses P. and M. Emms, 6-3. Mrs Barr and Miss Aplin lost to Misses P. and M. Emms, 1-6; and lost to Mrs Sara and Mrs Soper. 0-6. MEN’S DOUBLES Barr and Murray beat Courtney and Nesbit, 6-2; beat Emms and Petterson, 6-2. Burridge and Hume beat Emms and Petterson, 6-2; beat Courtney and Nesbit, 6-1. COMBINED DOUBLES Barr and Mrs Barr beat C. Emms and Miss P. Emms, 6-1; beat W. Petterson and Miss M. Emms, 6-1. L. Hume and Miss Hore beat VV. Petterson and Miss M. Emms. 6-2; lost to C. Emms and Miss P. Emms, 4-6. A. Murray and Miss Aplin beat Courtney and Mrs Soper, 6-4; lost to Nesbit and Mrs Sara, 3-6.
