CRISIS IMMINENT
GERMANY AND POLAND RUSSIA LIKELY TO BE INVOLVED LONDON, 23rd November. The diplomatic correspondent of the “Manchester Guardian" states that there are indications that a dangerous - Polish-German crisis is imminent. - The Poles, who are most disappointied that plans for a common Polish- ’ Hungarian frontier were thwarted by • Germany, are exercising terrorist prest sure in Carpathian Ruthenia to prepare the way for Polish-Hungarian occupation. Germany is seriously planning to treat Poland similarly to Czechoslovakia and promote the independence ' of the Polish Ukranians, thereby dismembering Poland in which the Ger--1 man minority is not formidable but Useful. He adds that the establishment of an i independent Ukraine would prelude • Herr Hitler’s plan for the dismemberi ment and colonisation of Russia. There 1 fore,, it is not likely that a GermanPolish conflict would occur without [ involving Russia. NEW CZECH FRONTIERS LONDON, 24th November. The Berlin correspondent of “The Times” says that the German Press | does not conceal its satisfaction at ; the new frontier agreement with | Czechoslovakia of 22nd Novembei, | especially the motor highway, representing the cession of Czech territory which was not contemplated in the Munich Agreement. It is, in effect, the German corridor proposed in the Reich Government's pre-Munich plans and then dropped owing to British opposition.
