CLOSING OF YANGTSF. JAPAN’S ARGUMENTS NOT ACCEPTED TOKIO, 24th November. Sir Robert Craigie, the British Ambassador, informed Mr Arita that the Government does not accept Japan's arguments against re-opening the Yangtse river. A spokesman said the Pearl river would shortly be re-opened, but this would depend on strategical necessity.
