JAPANESE ADVANCE
NEIGHBOURHOOD OF CANTON ARRIVAL OF REINFORCEMENTS [U.P.A.-B.v Electric Telegraph-Copyright] (Received 25th November. 10.10 a.m.) HONG KONG. 24th November. The Japanese, advancing from Sheklung, are for the first time in the neighbourhood of Hong Kong. They are fighting toward Lungkong, 20 miles away. Two thousand Japanese have arrived to the west and are believed to be attempting to clear the railway area of Chinese. The Japanese have asked permission to run an air service between Canton and Hong Kong. WARNING TO CONSUL (Received 25th November. 10.30 a.in ) CANTON. 24th November. The Japanese warned the British Consul of operations against the Chinese extending to the borders of British leased territory.
