WEDDING
McKANE—GREEP A very quiet wedding was solemnised at All Saints’ Church, Nelson, on Saturday afternoon last, the contracting parties being John Vernon Russell (Buster) eldest son of Mrs and the late Mr David McKane, of Reefton and Phyllis Mary, second daughter of Mr and Mrs William Greep, Tapawera. The Rev. Donald Haultain performed the ceremony and Mr Webb presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of navy blue spotted art silk with bolero and white revers, with navy accessories and wore a spray of white roses; carnations and maiden hair fern. Miss Effie Greep, sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid and wore a pink floral frock with black accessories with a spray of pink roses, carnations and maiden hair fern. The duties of the best man were carried out by Mr George Greep (brother of the bride). A reception was held at the Civic Tea Rooms where the usual toasts were honoured and telegrams read. Mr and Mrs McKane’s future home will be in Reefton and they were the proud recipients of many valuable presents, including several cheques.
