A CHILD’S DEATH
■ United Press Association) GISBORNE. This Day. Terence John Figg, aged 3£ years, son of Frederick John Figg of Kaiteratahi, fell into a sump hole in the backyard of his home this morning and was drowned. A six-foot hole had been aug for rubbish and the sump had been half-filled with water during the rain of the past few days. The child had uncovered the top.
