GOODS THROWN INTO SEA
DISORDERLY SAILORS FROM H.M.S. LEANDER INCIDENT AT RUSSELL I United Press Association) WHANGAREI, This Day. Three sailors from H.M.S. Leander. is at present visiting Russell, made merry on the Russell wharf last night and threw into the harbour all movable goods, merchandise, and gear v.ithin reach. The objects of their attention included three cases containing to-day’s films for the local cinema, empty cream cans, vegetables, and other material. Several officers, who -were attending a Masonic meeting ashore, were appealed to and the men were placed under arrest and returned to the ship.
