During a discussion in the House of Commons on unemployment, Mr Rene Pelletter, a Social Credit member, claimed that there was no one without a job in Germany. "All are in the army,” retored Mr Dunning, Minister of Finance. “It is the same in Russia. There were no unemployed in the southern states of America, too. during negro slavery.”
