BOMBING OF BARCELONA
BRITISH PROTEST TO FRANCO [British Official WireleßsJ (Received 30th March, 10.25 a.m.) RUGBY, 29th March. Referring in the House of Commons to the reply of General Franco’s administration to British protests against Barcelona bombings, the Prime Minister Mr Neville Chamberlain, said the British Government could not* regard the reply as an adequate justification in view of the exceptional loss of life and injury to the civilian population of Barcelona, The Government, however, was glad to note that no further bombardments of Barcelona had taken place since its communication.
