Seven vessels, including the passeh- : !ger liners Changle. Montoro, and Kat-! oomba, have been driven to shelter in j bays near Whitsunday Passage by a j cyclone operating off the Queensland coast. Bad weather at Thursday Island pre- j vented efforts to refloat the Dalia j which is fast on a reef near the wrecks of two other ships which met their fate ! there some years ago. Thursday Island i residents express the opinion that the I Dalia will become a total loss. The Dalia is a South African vessel bound from the Phillipines to Brisbane, which ran ashore on Micca Reef.
