GROWTH OF BASEBALL
COUNCIL FORMED AT WELLINGTON [By Telegraph—Press Association] WELLINGTON, This Day. An enthusiastic meeting at Wellington decided to form a New Zealand Baseball (softball) Council. As the game has grown to such an extent in the Wellington district and inquiries have been received from numerous other centres it was thought advisable to have a governing body to control the sport in the Dominion. The officers are: President, Mr Alf Jenkins; vice-presidents, Messrs J. K. Lennon and P. Wilson; executive, Messrs L. B. Wilson, W. S. Wilson, C. Bristow, G. Tristram, and A. R. Headifen; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. Cameron.
The interest in baseball has been increased as the result of matches against the Mormon team.
