TO TRAVEL ASSOCIATION FUNDS

The Minister of Finance replied stating that the matter was one for the Minister of Internal Affairs and announcing that he had forwarded the request to him. The Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes replied stating that he had seen the Minister of Internal Affairs who had informed him that the Government did not intend to do anything a this matter at present. A few days iater the Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon. W. Parry) replied in simialr i terms."' I Mr C. 11 Chibborn moved that the i clause be adopted and regretted that the Government would not meet them He also moved that the Government b» waited on again. Mr J. Miller in seconding the motion, said it was necessary for the association that the local bodies be able to contribute from their funds. He suggested that the emergency committee be the deputation to wait on the Government. The suggestion was adopted, and the motion passed.
