LUCAS’S ALMANAC FOR 1938

USEFUL AND HELPFUL INFORMATION

FULL DIARY AND RECEIPTS AND EXPENDITURE TABLE

Lucas's Almanac for 1938 contains over 300 pages and is now on sale at all booksellers and stores throughout the Nelson district.

I The Almanac has been published each I year for over seventy years and is an old friend to many hundreds of residents in both town and country. Always, or nearly always, kept near at hand, the almanac has been found to be helpful in many emergencies and has settled many an argument. Readers have always been helpful, errors have been corrected and many suggestions for improvement have been made. This co-operation is always greatly appreciated. The time of rising or setting of the sun and moon in the Almanac is the time of first or last appearance of the sun or moon above the horizon and has been calculated from the position of the Atkinson Observatory at Nelson. It will therefore be found to vary slightly according to the position of the observer. Throughout Nelson, Marlborough and the West Coast, however, the variation is small. The local times have been worked out by Mr E. L. Morley. The gardening calendar which is also for local conditions has always been helpful and informative. The book which also contains a full diary for the year is on sale in Nelson and throughout th_ district at one shilling.
