Questioned on a recent statement issued in Warsaw on Polish relations with the League of Nations, Mr Eden reminded the House of Commons of a communique issued by the Polish Foreign Minister and himself a year ago on the occasion of the latter’s visit to London, when they recorded the opinion that nothing would be more fatal to the hopes of European appeasement than the division of Europe into opposing blocks. The Polish Government were aware that the attitude of the British Government on this point had not changed.
