BOARD'S MONTHLY MEETING | STATISTICAL REPORT FOR OCTOBER The monthly meeting of the Nelson Hospital Board held at the Hospital 1 yesterday afternoon was attended by | Major R. Dagger (chairman), Mesdame: Watson and MolVntl, Messrs A. A. Kenyon. 11. TimniclilT, F. Page, F. W. Gibbs and N. MeConoehio. Mr J. Fil/.-Geralo i was excused from attendance. Accounts amounting lo £2679 wire ; passed for payment The report of the Master of the Alexandra Home (Mr A. Hunter) was | received. There are at present 34 in- ! mates. The Murchison County Council wrote ! thanking the Board for its help in the ! appointment of a medical officer at ] Murchison. The Board's architect (Mr A. R. j Griffin) reported on the progress made j in the preparation of plans for the new I hospital block, which would make pro- ! vision for 84 beds. I Mrs E. L. Wigzell, Collingwood, wrote ! thanking the Board for the increase in subsidy for her nursing home. A sum of ,1123 was received from the "Money From Home" art union, on account of relief of distress at Murchison. The Health Department advised the Board that expenditure on radio sets would be authorised expenditure in me future. Massage: No. of cases. 18 in-patients. 18 out-patients, total 36; No. of attendances .235 in-patients, 166 out-patients, total 401. X-ray department: No of attendances 48 in-patients, 50 out-patients, total 98. Bacteriological department: No. of examinations. 438 in-patients, 19 outpatients, 32 private patients, total 489.
