RICHMOND

SPRING FLOWER SHOW SUCCESSFUL ANNUAL FIXTURE The Richmond Spring Flower Show, which was held in the Anglican Sunday School, was opened by the Mayor (Mr H. W. Kelly). The display of flowers, fruit and vegetables exceeded expectations, and the interest taken in the show was very gratifying, the judges in the decorative and cut blooms sections being very pleased with the standard shown. During the evening an interesting children's singing competition was held, the judge being quite pleased with the work of the performers. Mr Bourne’s concert party from Nelson also helped greatly towards the success of the evening. Special thanks are due to the judges of the various classes, many of whom came out from Nelson, and to the band of willing helpers whose co-operaiion was much appreciated.
