MINISTERIAL SESSION I OPENED AT RICHMOND The ministerial session of the Nelson-Marlborough-West Coast District Methodist Synod was held in Richmond yesterday. The chairman of the district, the Rev. CONVERSAZIONE ; The synod social was held in Richj mond last night when the Mayor cf ; Richmond, Mr H W Kelly, and the Rev. B. Dudley welcomed the ministers and delegates from other districts. The Rev. J. D. McArthur, of Blenheim, chairman of the district, was in the chair. A stirring address on “Christian Revolution” was given by the Rev. W. E. Allen Carr, of Hokitika and a fine talk on “Crusaders” was delivered by the Rev. C. Dickens of Reefton. A reply on behalf of the laymen was voiced by Mr H. Oldham of Blenheim. Solos were sung by Mesdames Lewis and Dickenson, and Messrs Glover and Dickenson, a duet was rendered by Mr and Mrs Dickenson, a piano solo by Miss Papps, elocutionary items by Miss McNabb, and the Rev. F. Sanderson of Granity, and a violin solo by the Rev W. E. Allon Carr. A good audience encored all the items, and a pleasant evening was concluded by supper dispensed by the ladies.
